Je viens finalement de télécharger le mod et je dois avouer que je ne suis pas déçu. J’y joue depuis peu mais j’aime vraiment les possibilités offerte par la « nation » pirate. Cela permet de jouer d’une manière totalement différente en mettant le commerce de coté et en privilégiant la guerre maritime. Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas :
- les pirates n’ont pas de spécialistes, les seuls unités sont le soldat (pas de dragon), le colon (sans spécialité) et le criminel. Donc il est impossible d’avoir des colonies compétitives qui produisent à fond
- les pirates disposent de 2 types de navires, l’équivalent de la caravelle et un navire de guerre assez puissant qui permet d’attaquer sans déclaration de guerre et qui n’est pas très cher
Du coup pour jouer il faut faire très peu de colonies juste de quoi s’assurer un petit fond de commerce et acheter son premier corsaire puis piller joyeusement les autres européens qui permet d’acheter encore plus de corsaires... Ainsi on dispose d’une grosse flotte à l’indépendance et peu de colonies, le contraire d’une partie classique quoi

C'est n'importe quoi la nation pirate...
On peut littéralement pondre des colonies à la chaine, qui elle aussi pondront des unités a tour de bras.
En quelques tours, tu massacres les coloniaux qui eux se galèrent à se dévelloper.
Franchement j'ai fais 2 parties sur ce mod, après j'ai laissé tomber. Vraiment trop abusé les pirates.

De mon coté je n'ai pas trouvé qu'il était particulièrement facile de faire des colonies. Il faut savoir qu'avec les pirates il n'y a pas d'immigration, tu es obligé d'acheter tes unités qui ne peuvent pas être spécialisés. Lors de ma première partie j'ai essayé de jouer classiquement mais très vite je ne pouvais plus qu'acheter des criminels pour cher. Ca m'a saoulé et j'ai abandonné. J'ai réessayé en fondant très peu de colonies (3-4) très sommaires (juste assez pour acheter mon premier corsaire) et placées à des endroits stratégiques (au milieu des autres européens). Du coup je m'amuse beaucoup. Je vise la victoire économique (il faut recueillir une certaine quantité d'or pour gagner).

Enfin c'est vrai que ce mod n'est pas parfait mais il apporte quand meme de la fraicheur au jeu.

Ma stratégie avec les pirates, c'est de faire des colonies sur des iles. Plus la colonie est entouré de mer, mieux c'est.
Après je produit des unités de combat et les premieres je les places en tant que pécheur. Ce qui qu'au bout d'un moment, je gagne des colons bonus grace au surplus de bouffe. Je remplace les unités de combats qui péche par ces colons et je continue ainsi.
En parallèle, je crée un maximum de colonie en appliquant le même procédé.

Le truc c'est qu'en t'installant sur des iles d'1 a 3 cases, il n'y a pas d'indiens et en début de partie les coloniaux n'ont pas de quoi te harceler (ici il faudrait bateau + unités). Donc je suis complétement tranquil pour me develloper.
Au bout d'une centaine de tours, j'ai une grosse flotte et une grosse infanterie. Je me lance donc à la conquête du nouveau monde, ravageant coloniaux (à qui je pique unité spécialisé et colonie si possible) et indiens au passage.
Mais je ne termine pas la partie, car ce qui me botte moi, c'est de massacrer les coloniaux, une fois fini je ne m'amuse plus ^^
